I can not thank Brian and his team enough. It's hard to find shops in the area well knowledgeable about diesels unless you want to go straight to the dealer. It started as a Alternator problem and quickly the truck spiraled into a fuel issue less than 24 hours after the alternator was done. To no fault of theirs. They kept me in the loop every step of the way and worked with my secondary warranty company to help get some costs covered. To my surprise it was done a few days later. I didn't expect to see it for another week! I will definitely continue to use Witmers for anything my truck needs from oil changes to larger repairs. Thank you guys so much for your help, knowledge, and very quick timeliness! You will always be a recommendation!

Hydrofluoroolefin (r1234yf refrigerant)

R1234yf is a hydrofluoroolefin (HFO) refrigerant. HFO refrigerants are composed of hydrogen, fluorine and carbon atoms, but contain at least one double bond between the carbon atoms. Due to its composition, R1234yf does not damage the ozone layer or has minimal global warming impact.

R134a and R1234yf are similar, however, R1234yf was created as a more environmentally friendly replacement to R134a. The biggest difference between the two, is that R1234yf is mildly flammable and does require special handling. Diagnosis of the air-conditioning system can be done in the same way as with R134a.

HFC (R134a refrigerant)

R134a is a HFC, used in automotive air conditioning and as a replacement for R12 and R22 in medium and high temperature refrigeration applications, such as commercial and domestic refrigeration and chillers. R-134a is an HFC refrigerant, which requires polyolester (POE) lubricant to be used in the compressor.

On September 26, 2016, the EPA announced that, under the EPA SNAP (Significant New Alternatives Policy) program, specific refrigerants including R134a and R410A can no longer be used in new chillers, effective January 1, 2024. ... It is safe to use R410A and R134a right up to the Jan 1, 2024 date.
